Bruce McConnell
President and founder of McConnell International, LLC, working with a wide variety of industry clients to respond to changing government requirements for technology and services at the enterprise level. Particular emphasis on homeland and cyber security, technology business cases, and e-government lines of business.
Chief of information and technology policy at the White House Office of Management and Budget until 1999. Helped redirect government information technology (IT) procurement and management along commercial lines, created an information security strategy for government agencies, led the government-industry team that reformed U.S. encryption export policy, and extended the presumption of open government information into the electronic arena. Established and directed the International Y2K Cooperation Center under United Nations and World Bank auspices. Adviser to government and industry officials in more than 160 countries.
Vice Chair for Outreach on the Industry Advisory Council (IAC) Executive Committee. Named to the Government Computer News Hall of Fame in 1999, and received the Elmer B. Headed the Detention and Deportation Program for the Immigration and Naturalization Service and served as Deputy Associate Attorney General at the Department of Justice.
